Structural Engineering
Devise employs and equips a strong group of experienced engineers that specilize in structural design of both urban and rural developments. Our engineers work side-by-side with clients, owners, and contractors to ensure project success from its design roots through construction completion. Our services include commercial and residential building design, seisic evaluations, and more.
Geotechnical Engineering
Devise possesses a growing team of geotechnical engineers with a vast knowledge of the geotechnical issues and hazards associated with building in Alaska and arctic condtions. Our engineers are experienced in shallow and deep foundation design and construction, slope stability modeling, thermal analyses, pavement design, ground improvement exercises, pile driving, and more.
CIVIL Engineering
Devise has expanded our services with a civil engineering design group in 2026. Our civil engineers have diverse knowledge in site development and design, utility design, and rural sanitation improvement projects throughout Alaska. With our experiences in public, commercial, and residential development projects, we are prepared to provide expert service for any project. Our services include site layout, access, grading, drainage, utility design, and more.
Our History
Devise Engineering, Inc. was founded by Nick Choromanski, Steven Halcomb, and Jesse Gobeli in February 2024. They envisioned a company that provided the quality and responsiveness that client's should expect as well as an environment that encouraged growth in its employee's technical, educational, and business skills. Devise has grown quickly since, now more than triple in size.
Devise was built on the backs of entrepreneurs to encourage entrepreneurial growth. We believe that attention to exceptional client service is paramount, and we believe that allowing our staff to stretch and grow will benefit both our clients and the company.
